So farnie Wrinkles fascinates me… White hair too. Old folks like Khalid Yunus, Dr. M tend to give facial lines a new definition to facial expression.

Honestly, I don’t feel any different. I don’t feel any older. Yes, I get tired more easily, nowadays but, mentally and emotionally, nope… not feeling any older.

Farnie how things are these days. The last few years, I can’t remember the last time people in service, trading or construction company ever complained or whined about not having contracts, jobs or servicing the industry. Back then, it seems that almost everyone and everything is thriving like it can’t get any better than it was.

Nowadays, however, everywhere I go or everyone I met, is begging for work. From Class A all the way to Class F contractors. From basic service job all the way to comprehensive maintenance job. Literally, everyone is looking for opportunity.

Why is this happening? What is going on? How come we are going through this painful time? Especially when the Government is saying that we are growing at 5.6%. Is it really true we are growing? Because most of us, I’m included, are not feeling it. I know that some are thriving but are not based on merit but rather out of favors and cronies.

While most people, I really mean MOST PEOPLE, are getting out of jobs, laid off, begging for work, a handful of folks are changing their cars almost like babies change their diapers. The middle class is shrinking as well. Hmm, typical case of rich get richer and poor get poorer.

Are we in good hands? Who is responsible for changing our fortune? By right, it would be ourself. Anyhow, I can’t help but blame most part of it on the Government.

Ok, some disclaimers. I am for the Government. I am very partisan. I am in the system. I am not complaining. I am just critising the Government so that they can rectify the problem and hopefully find the appropriate solution that would make everyone happy.

My observations. Which warrant to be taken with a pinch of salt. Not truly reliable. Anyway, I think we are at flaw and at fault with regards to well being of our countries economy. Well, for one, the economy of the country is no more no less like the financial aspect of a company. With that, CEO of the country and Chief Financial Officer of the country should be in charge with the financial outcome of this country. How, where, who and when to generate the much needed boost in this dire times.

Again, from my observation, the economy of the country, Malaysia especially, requires political decision and one of the officer of this country who is in charge of this country’s economy cannot and will not make political decision because the person is non-political. On the other hand, the person who is responsible to advise the country on what to do with its economical activities, is probably the most indecisive person you can find. It’s almost like typical lawyer giving advise on matters, that would outline the best scenario and the worst scenario and let the client choose which side they want to go themselves. It’s like if you do this, you will lose X and get Y, and if you do that, you will lose A and get B. I mean, what gives?

To make things worst, the CEO is depending on them to help him to figure what and how to do or get out of this mess. It doesn’t help either, when the CEO is hardly around in the country to take care the matters at hand.

So… my suggestions? Well,Mr Advisor, sir, please advise Mr CEO and Mr CFO what to do, have some political will and be very decisive. Mr CFO, sir, please make the political decision Mr CEO, sir, please manage the country.

Huh. Just my rant.

We are suppose to support and be loyal to our leader. And I think, we are suppose to help our leader to make the right decision when they are making the wrong ones, as well.

Duh…

Tapi tak tahannya bila dah comment, semua melenting. Cuba la ambik teguran sebagai kritikan membina, sekali sekala..

My 2cents

Have you ever been in a situation where you feel insecure about nothing but still you need to find assurance that you are actually alright? Worse still, when you seek that assurance, you got yourself entangled with unnecessary complications. Here is a scenario:

You have an established relationship with one client, and you and your client have entered into agreement that the relationship is exclusive to one and another only. Later, you have found out that other competitor in town is looking into establishing a relationship with your client as well.Given the stiff competitions and values of your client, you tend to get paranoid. Even though you have the trust in your client to uphold his part of the bargain, still, (I’m sure) you will still feel a bit threatened by the development.Imagine you are the competitor and having no luck to strike a deal with any client so far. You will be pretty desperate to persuade any potential client to come over to your side. Even if it mean stealing or even robbing the client away from your competitor. Now, stop imagining that you are competitor. Start imagine that you are the one who feel that your competitor is about to rob your precious client from you.

    What would you do?

You could establish a point of reference with your client, underlining the importance of the agreement. However, the normal outcome of this act is not always favourable on your side. Usually, your client refused to see things through your perspective. Instead, they would question your trust in them. How could that be? Hey, we had to work hard and had to go thru various pain and suffering to get this client. We love our client. :)Alas, in the end, you will not only end up with not feeling assured but had to convince them that you trust them and all. In no time at all, the issue at hand, your assurance is at risk and your threat (i.e. your competitor) still have the opportunity to pursue their interest in your client.

I got myself in that predicament, once too often. I don’t know what to feel or do. It is like walking on a thin ice over a huge lake. One wrong step, you gonna get yourself plunge into really icy cold water with no way of getting out of it. Hey, thinking about it, made me realised that it also implies to everything else. Even friendship and love. That suxs! Nevertheless, cheers!

Have you ever been in a situation when things didn’t go the way you had pictured or imagined. Especially, after an intense conversation, you found out that the one that had engaged a conversation with you seems to have different view than yours. More or less, misunderstood you statement completely. Only problem is that, you found out about the confusion in view only little too late.

Shit! Right!?

Well, everybody is entitle to their own thoughts. However, if the thoughts that was perceived by other people on you is to the point that could jeopardize a sacred relationship or friendship, this could a whole lot of problem.

Furthermore, if the confusion would mean that you are wrong, then, you are at lost if you were not allowed to defend yourself.

What would you do?

Sometimes, in order to paint a picture of a particular situation, you would at times, chose to paint in a very general form. Why? Obviously, to say things that would generalize the whole idea, without pinpointing to specific event or person. We do so, because we about other people feeling as well.

Unfortunately, in most cases, this doesn’t work well for us. Without being specific, remain rather anonymous about most things, people tend to misconstrue our thoughts to suit theirs. When this happened, people most likely to take those thoughts as an act of aggression against them. Go figure…

About a decade ago, someone got into our house compound and stole a pair of new shoes right in front of our doorstep. My late uncle, a tough guy, gave the thief a chase but he managed to get away. The following day, my uncle, went to one of mini market in front our house. While he was there, he blurbed out the fact that our village is harboring a thief.Apparently, one of the guy felt like my uncle was referring to him.Hmmm… words and human tend to work differently at times
